A very ordinary day, a cheerful and lovely serenity

Woolly grows 3mm in one minute and 18cm in one hour. Woolly, whose fur grows endlessly, has a doll named ‘Day’. Woolly has never been separated from Day. She holds Day while she sleeps. But when the morning comes, Day is nowhere to be found! Woolly quickly puts on her clothes and takes a bumpy bus to the mouse’s hair salon to find Day. That’s right! Day is buried in Woolly’s curly fur that grew all night long. When Woolly carefully and neatly cuts off her fur, Day, who was hidden, pops out! Woolly happily returns home and spends a fun time with Day. They fall asleep together and greet the morning again. This book, which tells the story of the same day over and over again through the doll ‘Day’, lovingly tells the story of the preciousness of ordinary days with nothing special going on.

Just as daily routines begin to feel mundane, I find small happiness in a fragrant cup of tea. I feel the same when I happen to hear a song I love. Like Woolly, I want to live each day discovering little joys. I have written and illustrated a picture book called ‘Dancing with Santa’.
